Our ministry engages in various activities designed to deepen our faith and strengthen our community bonds. We regularly hold enriching Zoom meetings for Bible study, providing accessible opportunities for spiritual growth and discussion. Additionally, we host inspiring worship experiences that uplift and encourage all who attend. These activities help individuals connect with God and foster a supportive environment among women.

Week 1: The Coming King

Isaiah 9:1-7

Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his Kingdom, to order it and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth and forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. Isaiah 9:7

Isaiah the prophet, came before God's people with a message of deliverance. The people had gone astray from the teachings of God and turned their hearts to idol worship. God allowed His people to be taken captive by foreign countries and made to live as slaves. Isaiah came to them with a message of hope that King was coming to deliver them.

Isaiah told the people, who were walking in darkness, about the Light that was to come. In this Light, there would be freedom for all who would believe. Several prophets who preceded Isaiah had brought similar messages to the people, but they would not listen. At this point, they had been defeated by their enemies, so they cried out to God for deliverance.

Isaiah promised them that a Child would be born who would deliver them from their enemies. This special Child would be the Ruler of the world, carrying the government on His shoulders. This child would be a Wonderful Counselor, a Prince of Peace, and a Mighty God.

Imagine the enthusiasm of parents when a baby comes into their family. The excitement surrounding the coming Messiah, however, was different because He was destined to save the world. This promised Messiah would come to earth and rule with such authority that people would bow at His feet. He would be the King of glory, and He would reign forever. Millions would follow Him and spread Hs message to the world.

this weeks' activity: Distribute hymnals and sing or read the lyrics to some familiar Christmas carols. As you pray, thank God for sending Jesus to save you and the world. Consider a special mission project to bless a young family with a newborn baby.

Daily Application of Isaiah 9:1–7

This passage reminds women that Christ meets us in our darkness, carries our burdens, guides our decisions, strengthens us in our weakness, and gives us peace. Daily application can be simple and intentional:

Every Morning

Ask yourself:

Where do I need God's light today?
What burden am I carrying that I need to surrender to Him?
Which name of Jesus do I need most today: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, or Prince of Peace?

Throughout the Day

When anxiety comes, remember: Jesus is my Prince of Peace.
When difficult decisions arise, pray: Jesus, be my Wonderful Counselor.
When you feel weak, declare: Jesus is my Mighty God.
When you feel lonely or forgotten, remember: Jesus is my Everlasting Father who loves and cares for me.

From Darkness to Light: A Week with Isaiah 9:1–7

Day 1: Seeing the Light

Scripture

Isaiah 9:2

Devotional

Darkness can make us feel isolated and uncertain. Yet God's promise is that His light shines even when we cannot see the path ahead. Jesus does not wait for our circumstances to improve before meeting us—He enters our darkness and becomes our light.

Reflection

What area of your life feels dark or uncertain right now?

What am I struggling to trust God with?
Where do I need His light today?

Prayer

Lord, shine Your light into every dark place of my heart and life. Help me trust You even when I cannot see clearly.

Day 2: Releasing My Burdens

Scripture

Isaiah 9:4

Devotional

God never intended for us to carry life's burdens alone. He invites us to release our fears, worries, disappointments, and responsibilities into His capable hands.

What burden have you been carrying longer than God intended?

Father, help me release what I cannot control and trust You with the outcome.

Day 3: Choosing Joy

Scripture

Isaiah 9:3

Devotional

Biblical joy is not based on circumstances. Joy comes from knowing God is with us and working on our behalf, even when life is challenging.

Where have you seen God's goodness recently?

Prayer

Lord, open my eyes to Your goodness and help me choose joy today.

Day 4: Wonderful Counselor

Scripture

Isaiah 9:6

Devotional

Jesus is our Wonderful Counselor. He offers wisdom for every decision, relationship, and challenge we face. When we seek Him first, He faithfully guides us.

Is there a decision you need God's wisdom for?

Jesus, guide my thoughts, choices, and steps today.

Day 5: Mighty God

Scripture

Isaiah 9:6

Devotional

Sometimes we reach the end of our strength and realize we cannot do everything ourselves. The good news is that God never runs out of power. His strength becomes our strength.

Where do you feel weak today?

What challenge feels impossible right now?
How can God's strength help me face it?

Prayer

Mighty God, strengthen me where I am weak and remind me that nothing is too difficult for You.

Day 6: Everlasting Father

Scripture

Isaiah 9:6

Devotional

God's love is constant and unchanging. He does not abandon us when we fail, struggle, or feel unworthy. His care is everlasting.

Reflection

How have you experienced God's love recently?

Write a letter to God thanking Him for His faithfulness.

Prayer

Father, thank You for loving me with an everlasting love.

Day 7: Prince of Peace

Scripture

Isaiah 9:6–7

Devotional

The peace Jesus offers is deeper than the absence of problems. It is the assurance that God is in control. Regardless of what is happening around us, His peace guards our hearts.
